Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR)
We use the
StructureScan™ Optical system from GSSI for
concrete inspection. This is the only
concrete inspection tool on the market with
an optical barcode reader and patented Smart
Pad technology for easy wall and floor
scanning.

Impact Echo
Impact-Echo
is a method for nondestructive evaluation of
concrete and masonry, based on the use of
impact-generated stress (sound) waves that
propagate through the structure and are
reflected by internal flaws and external
surfaces. Impact-Echo can be used to make
accurate, nondestructive, measurements of
thickness in concrete slabs and plates,
following an ASTM Standard.

Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge
The
ultrasonic thickness gauge is used to
measure the thickness of steel structures,
particularly measuring the thickness of
steel pipe to determine the amount of
corrosion.

Schmidt (Swiss) Rebound Hammer
The Schmidt
rebound hammer is a device
used to measure the elastic properties or
strength of concrete or rock.

R-Meter
The R-meter
uses eddy current to locate steel in
concrete structures up to 6 inches
in depth.

Resistivity Meter
The
resistivity of soil varies throughout
different soil types. Soil resistivity is
mainly influenced by the type of soil (clay,
shale, etc.), moisture content, and the
amount of electrolytes (minerals and
dissolved salts). At GTS, Inc. we can
provide soil resistivity testing
incorporated with geotechnical borings to
locate different soil and rock strata and to
map geologic structures.

Ultrasonic Inspection
Ultrasonic
nondestructive testing is an established
method of insuring the integrity of
structural welds by being able to identify
cracking, porosity, incomplete penetration,
inclusions, lack of sidewall fusion, and
similar defects that can compromise weld
strength by using sound waves.
